For many years we have been doing research on product information together with some of the leading minds from Swedish universities and in cooperation with some of Sweden’s largest globally-active companies.
Our continuous goal is to provide high-quality product information. We see a future where we can automate the assessment and quality assurance of product information, making product information profitable for our customers.
The knowledge and development of product information is essential for the future use of complex products. That’s why we have established sustainable partnerships with some of the world’s leading educational establishments, where – aside from collaborating in research projects – we conduct dedicated lectures and courses.
Among these universities are: Óbuda University (Hungary), Peking University (China), Linnaeus University (Sweden), Gothenburg University (Sweden), Malmö University (Sweden), and Chalmers University of Technology (Sweden).
Cloud is a global trend and an essential component to ensure business operations.
We have vast experience in the datacom domain, and we have many consultants with profound knowledge of cloud technologies. We have also researched in and developed product information for cloud-based products.

Nowadays, the users of products also produce a lot of information and instructions about these products, most commonly with troubleshooting information on online forums. This is a complement to the professionally-developed product information, and needs to be integrated in a good way to create a complete set of information that is valuable for the end user.
Sigma Technology is already working on incorporating user-produced information, and creating innovative techniques to improve the ways of collaboratively developing information.
“Our vision is to automate the assessment and the assurance of technical documentation. For an end-user this means the information becomes easier to find, easier to understand and, eventually, easier to use. For the owner of technical documentation we would like to turn the production of such manuals from the cost into a profit center. Think of a service center that can have reduced incoming costs due to higher information quality.”
— WELF LÖWE
Professor in Computer Science, Linnaeus University
“The challenge for technical information companies is to create platforms for collaborative production of technical information that covers whole new situations involving transient collections of devices. This is a significant challenge, but to me it seems that it’s the only way to stay current.”
— JONAS LÖWGREN
Professor in Interaction Design, Malmö University
We are experts in this area and we are passionate about creating great product information. We want to be the best supplier of product information with high-quality deliveries in combination with a continuous stream of new innovations.
“In the end it’s about turning information development, both directly and indirectly, from a ’cost center’ to a ’profit center’ by using the full potential of the information and by utilizing new possibilities of the connected society. It’s also about taking control of your aftermarket while increasing the value of the product.”
— Carl Vikingsson
CEO, Sigma Technology Group

Creating a good end-user product experience is so much more than just developing information. We are experts in all parts of the process chain of information logistics. As a customer you will benefit from our competence in all the areas where you need support.
When we work with information development, we try to find synergies between different kinds of product information, including customer product information and marketing information. We ensure that information is developed for the product and can be reused – with the least modifications needed – for customers, marketing material, training, and so on.
When developing product information, it is essential to be able to get input and check technical accuracy as efficiently as possible. This ensures keeping the time spent by the development teams to a minimum. To do this we work according to the same methods and processes as the development teams. Most companies use agile methods, and we have many years of experience with agile product information development.

Technical writing is not just about creating product information that can be understood, but about creating product information that cannot possibly be misunderstood.
We understand the need for competent technical writers, which is why we set high requirements when hiring technical writers.
We can offer services within all parts of the product information lifecycle. Even the best product information is useless if the end user cannot access it; that is why it is important to get expert support on how and when product information should be supplied.
With technical editing, we improve the readability and usability of product information, meaning that your product information can be read and understood by any user.
Training is the acquisition of knowledge, competence, and expertise, and at Sigma Technology we have knowledge, competence, and expertise that we want to spread. We have many years of experience within information and product development, which has enabled us to build up a large knowledge base that we want others to share. Sigma Technology works within many different industries globally. The common factor is that we are great in explaining a complex product for the end users in a simple way. This isn’t just because of our competence within language, but also our knowledge of the products we work with.
Our consultants have vast competence within the datacom, automotive, telecom, healthcare, and packaging industries, among others.
We have a lot of experience in certifications and assessments to secure the right competences within product information. The very first assessment is done at the recruitment stage, to ensure our future staff have great knowledge in writing technical English.
In addition to that we also work internally with building and assessing the competence within writing technical English.
“The challenge to transform difficult technical product information into user-friendly information, where text and illustration collaborate, is why I am an information engineer.”
– Louise Ahlström
“I enjoy the combination of technology and writing. Product information allows me to improve my troubleshooting skills and present information in a clear and concise way. It is a good feeling knowing that people all around the world are using what I have written to help solve software or hardware issues.”
